Tastes of Rutherglen 2023

The Winemakers of Rutherglen's annual Tastes of Rutherglen festival will return on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th March 2023 (Victorian Labour Day long weekend) to showcase the region's award-winning wines, produce and cuisine.

Seventeen Rutherglen wineries will open their cellar doors and invite visitors to the tasting table; to sip and savour their way around the entire region all weekend long. With more than 200 wines to taste, curated menus at each winery, 11 masterclasses to attend, plus a series of special events, Tastes of Rutherglen offers visitors the unique chance to speak to the region's winemakers directly, connecting wine lovers' curiosity with winemakers' craft. The Food:Catered by renowned Albury restaurant, La Maison. served daily, 10am-4pm

Middle Eastern Lamb Tagine. Local Jindera Lamb simmered in Russel el Hanout, bone broth, dried apricots, prunes, tri quinoa pilaf, baby spinach, toasted almond, mint, labneh, pomegranate seeds (gf)”. Included wine match 2019 Shiraz Durif $30

Vegan Eggplant Tagine. Braised eggplant and chickpeas, sautéed with tomato garlic, chilli & spices, baby spinach, quinoa pilaf (gf df v). Included wine match 2021 Terra Mae $30

Crackling Pork Belly Bahn Mi. Crusty bread roll, pate, crackling pork belly, shaved cucumber, coriander, pickled carrot and daikon, mayonnaise, chilli optional. Included wine match 2022 Rosé $30

Live Music:Give in to the groove of Paddy & Jim from Headline Entertainment. The guys will be back playing the Best Hits of All Time, a good mix of rock, pop and your favourite Aussie ballads; You'll be dancing in no time.

Masterclasses & Events:Self-guided Fortified Masterclass Available daily, 10am-4pm Taste through the classification of our world famous Muscats and Topaques. $25pp

Portuguese Masterclass11am Saturday & 11am on Sunday: Originally planted by Chris Killeen for his famous Vintage Fortified, we have many interesting and versatile Portuguese varieties. We will guide you through our range from sparkling, fortified and table wines. $30pp

The Second Annual Dog Athletics at S&K2pm Saturday & 2pm Sunday: Bring your furry friend and test their skills in a series of tasks to suit dogs of all sizes. Test your pooch's agility and athleticism on Saturday afternoon in the highly anticipated 'Doggy High Jump' competition. Big & Little dog heats (so it's fair). Then come Sunday, pooches will strut their stuff in 'Poochy Fashion in the Vines.' There will be prizes for the winners, and all money raised will go to Albury Wodonga Animal Rescue. Gold coin to donation.
