At 30 years of age, the 1996 Vintage Fortified from Jack's Block Vineyard is a graceful time capsule. Made from 100% Shiraz grown on vines planted in 1921, this release lands in the same year Jack's Block celebrates its 105th year in 2026, which feels pretty poetic. It is a beautifully preserved vintage that shows what patience can do.

This wine also marks a turning point for Stanton & Killeen. It is the last of our Australian style Shiraz based Vintage Fortifieds before the new era begins, with Portuguese varieties brought to the forefront by 6th generation Christopher Killeen. So yes, it has history in the glass, but it also has momentum.

The flavour profile is full of fragrant spirit lift and spiced dark fruit, with Swiss chocolate running right through the middle. You will find liquorice, soft blackberry, glazed cherry and plum, plus hints of mint, rhubarb and a subtle coffee bean note that keeps it all feeling composed rather than showy.

Smooth and full flavoured, this fortified finishes gently with a soft elegance that only comes with age. Rich without being heavy, lifted without being loud, it is a graceful send off to one chapter and a very classy handover to the next.
