At 21 years of age, the 2005 Vintage Fortified is a stunning example of the style Stanton and Killeen is famous for, crafted by Chris Killeen from a blend of Durif 32%, Shiraz 30%, Tinta Cao 16%, Tinta Roriz 12% and Touriga Nacional 10%.

The colour is deep and vibrant, a plummy red with a youthfulness that belies its age. The bouquet bursts with lifted mulberry, black plum and aniseed alongside rich chocolate and malt, building a nose that is both generous and intriguing.

On the palate, the wine is mellow yet powerfully rich, with fresh upfront flavours of cloves and plum carrying through from the bouquet. Generous sweetness and concentrated fruit sit alongside honey and chocolate notes that evoke something almost nostalgic in their warmth and indulgence. Subtle sarsaparilla and black pepper add complexity and intrigue across the mid palate, while clean spirit and fine, firm tannins create a satisfying, seamless finish.

This is a Vintage Fortified that is both indulgent and beautifully balanced, showing the richness and depth that only comes with time and care in the bottle.
