Jack's Block Shiraz: The Mixed Six
Jack's Block Shiraz: The Mixed Six
Three vintages, one century-old vineyard, six bottles worth opening
Jack Stanton planted this block in 1921. The vines are now over 100 years old, and the Shiraz they produce is some of the finest in Rutherglen. This mixed six gives you two bottles each of three consecutive vintages, the ideal way to explore how Jack's Block expresses itself across different years.
2021 — The Centenary Release
Held back for Stanton & Killeen's 150th anniversary in 2025, the 2021 marks 100 years since Jack planted these vines. Rich and full-bodied with blackcurrant, dark chocolate and coffee bean, layered with savoury spice and firm, elegant tannins. A wine built to age, but drinking beautifully now.
2022
The same quiet confidence that defines this label. Deep colour, dark fruit, a savoury backbone and the structural integrity that comes from old vine material in the red loam soils of Gracerray. A wine for the cellar and the table in equal measure.
2023
The most approachable of the three and the one to open first. Old vine intensity and Rutherglen character in a style that rewards sooner rather than later, without compromising on quality.
Together, these six bottles tell the story of a single remarkable block across three years of Rutherglen winemaking. A great gift, an even better reason to open a bottle tonight.
